PROTECT YOUNG MIND TO PROTECT FUTURE!
The future well-being of any society depends on the healthy development of children. Children are more vulnerable than adults to poor living conditions like poverty, inadequate health care, nutrition, safe water, housing and environmental pollution because they are still growing and developing. Many children are unable to reach their full potential due to adverse environmental conditions. These negative childhood experiences can also accumulate and compound over time. For example, a poor child is more likely to experience stress, malnutrition, and unstable caregiving, all of which have a negative impact on child development. Adverse effects on child development in the first years of life can have long-term consequences, affecting school readiness and learning potential, mental and physical wellbeing as an adult, stress resilience and conflict resolution, as well as depleted family resources and intergenerational poverty. However, with the right intervention and support, recovery is possible. Children who receive adequate support in their early years are healthier, better educated, and more likely to contribute to society and the global economy, so investments in child development policies and programs will yield long-term returns. The global child health sector recognizes the importance of early childhood development and has shifted its focus to emphasize that children have the right to thrive rather than simply survive. When children are encouraged to thrive, we can expect long-term, transformative change in our global society as they become more educated, less poor, and so on. And that is why we have the National Children's Month.
This event is celebrated every November, the Philippines observes National Children's Month. This month-long celebration aims to provide Filipino children with a safe environment, a good education, and access to health care. The youth are the country's future, so let us value them because they will be the key to the well-being of the next generation. This holiday is also motivated by empathy. As a third-world country, most families struggle financially, with children bearing the brunt of the burden. This day emphasizes the value of children in society, and some still face numerous problems and difficulties in various aspects of their lives. This celebration aims to invest in their future, improve their well-being, and make the world a better place for them. It also emphasizes how we can assist and support them.
Looking back on my childhood made me appreciate how fortunate I am to have a parents who can meet all of my needs. I'm so grateful that they're willing to make such a sacrifice in order to protect and secure our future. I understand that it is assumed that parents have the responsibility to protect their children's rights until they are old enough to make their own way in the world, and that they have the authority to make decisions regarding and affecting the child's care, welfare, and proper development. Nonetheless, I am grateful for them.
